very nice! hey drive it down saturday and if we get mine going we can go for a drive.

Dan: I'm down for it. Let me check the social calendar and see if I can park the pooches with my Dad.

Ok NOW I'm pissed...I thin this is God's way of punishing me for driving it before it's ALL THE WAY done. IT'S RAINING! MY first day to drive it to work....and it's RAINING!

Looks like it'll be rain till Wed, so I'll have a chance to do the center console, and maybe the amp Tonight. I'm still pissed...but that's life!

Ok gang...I'm getting close. Just popped the center console in. I have to mod the way the lower 'tray' is mounted to accomidate the short-shift kit, but it'll work out JUST fine!

I spent all night chatting with Vance, and building the wiring harness for all the gauges. Not as bad as I thought it'd be...only really two wires you need to worry about...the rest is just power and ground.

I can't find the battery charger for the camera, so you'll all have to wait for pics. But it's looking like we'll be done by tomorrow night. The only thing left to do is put the wipers back on, and the fog lights. I'm just going to put them in there for now, as I don't have the switch for them yet. Maybe I'll just do that mod so they only come on when I'm 'flashing' my brights. Thoughts???

Shorty01: That's exactly what I used. 3M Sandblasters on an angle grinder. That and sandpaper...if I had to do it over again, I'd use a chemical stripper. I think I said that before here...

Here are a few pics of the interior. I'm going to re-do the face later and take the "Fasten Seat Belts" light out.

I'm real pleased with it though.

I'm going to make a new shift boot out of the diamond-punch vinyl too. The leather one is getting kinda ratty.

I've also got to make a new cover for the arm-rest. The one I had was brown, and the black one I bought is the wrong kind. I've got to wire my iPod and a CLA in there, so it'll be a bit before I need to cover anything up anyway.

Here is the list of tyhe stuff I need to finish.

Wire the Oil Pressure sensor. (Installed at both ends...just need to connect them.)
Wire the Amp, and new speakers.
Install tweeters on dash. (MAYBE in side the side air vents??)
Install iPod adaptor
Install Sirrius components
Install fog lights. (They won't work for a while...just need to fill the holes!)
Wire 3rd Brake Light
Re-paint the engine grill
Re-paint the PORSCHE letters Yellow.
Install Crane ignition and new distributor.

And that'll be it...should be done tonight!

350 mm. (13.8") driving it for a couple of days, I drove a stock wheel, and it felt like a bus wheel!

I forgot to add that I need to install the Turbo Tie-Rods. I'm going to pay someone to do that though...they can allign it at the same time. Just to make sure!

I hope this isn't a dumb question but I've never driven a 914 with a center console. A guy sold me one cheap and i'm looking at it thinking that it will get in the way of my right knee and the gas pedal. are you experiencing this?
Also I noticed my gauges point towards the driver a bit but yours seem set in flush. Is your center console and gauges stock or aftermarket?
Kicking some serius *ss man. Great work! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

The stock one is flat. I've got Morphenspectras. It's identical to the stock one, only made a lot better. I also had him drill it for current gauge sizes...and I bought all new ones.

I have a size 13 shoe, and it dosen't get in my way at all...if that means anything...

rogergrubb.....

the 914 consoles with the slanted gauges were put in with cars that had dealer/aftermarket installed air conditioning. You'll notice the top of the console will be notched out for an underdash vent system.
