Is anybody familiar with this 914 on Flea Bay? It doesn't appear the owner is....

Not sure he knows what year it is or the color? Appears the description was copied and pasted from somewhere else?

Legit car?

Thanks!

Probably fake, since he says the car is 74 when on one of the photos it says the date is 12/73.....

I went to look at this car, the door black label stated 1973. It is repainted, not perfect paint, few cracks on the back trunk. Seller wants it for $15K. My opinion is worth like $9-10K.

You guys are aware that 12/73 is the build date and not the model year right? Model year is indicated by the VIN, which starts with 474. That means it's a 74. Porsche always started production halfway through the previous year, so cars built in late 73 are 74 model year cars.
Not to mention that the 1.8 engine wasn't offered until the 74 model year. In 73 only the 1.7 and 2.0 were available.

The car looks pretty solid, 66 bids means it's popular.
