you would want to climb over the side of one of those installed in a car and sit in it before you decide to buy.

With bolsters that high you will never get a tight seat belt connection on kids or skinny adults.
The renegade seats come in two styles. -High bolsters for race and touring bolsters for street. I forgot what they call each one officially, but they don't look like they would have a problem with kids. |

those look nice ian. can they be had without the lettering? 2 fancy seats, trick wheel, door panels, and no interior light in those pics. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

Semi high side bolsters are OK....but when they get that high and tight....they are a REAL PITA for an everyday car and a minor PITA for race cars. When ya gets old and the knees and the back are a little creaky....being able to get in and out without killing yerself in the process is a priority.
Screw it...gmme ez access everyday. |

AFAIK, Renegade made one set with no lettering. Because Pelican had promised one of our customers "no lettering", before Renegade told us differently. They want everyone to know who made those cool 914 seats, I guess... They will, however, do black lettering on the black seat if you ask nicely. --DD |

Yeah, I was told by Renegade that they want their name on them so it get their name out. You get to pick the color of "Renegade Hybrids." I chose blue because they match my LED lit instruments. So now I post a picture of some nice seats and everyone knows where I got them. Mine are the "sport" or high bolstered style. I fit in them nicely, with room to grow! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) The other style Renegade has are the "touring" and the bolsters are a little shorter. What's so great about the seats is they are built on stock 914 seat cores, so they fit nicely, look like factory seats, yet now I don't slide around the car when I go around corners. My fancy wheel is a 13 inch Grant wheel. Behind that is a billet aluminum spacer I got from Renegade. I can sit back in my nice seats and reach the steering wheel too. My interior light broke when I took my backpad out a while back. I got a new one, just haven't stuck it in yet! |
