I'm biased towards Alaska Blue (but this pic was shot in the shade on a tired paint job).

Tomorrow is the big day to select the paint. It's got to be something similar to that ice blue 911. Alaska Blue is very nice, but the dark paint tends to make the 914 disappear. I think a 914 needs a bright color, and all small cars for that matter. I love Marathon Blue and Anacona Blue. Keep posting photos...

You might consider my wife's Odyssey - real nice "light" blue. Is your car for your wife? It would be perfect then... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)
PS: Also, below is another picture - you may not be able to see it but there IS ('cause its Alaska Blue) a 914 in it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) Seriously, enjoy whatever you choose and never look back! T Alaska Blue is very nice, but the dark paint tends to make the 914 disappear. I think a 914 needs a bright color, and all small cars for that matter. |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/rennlist.com-15176-1457940414.1.jpg) This is my favorite of all Porsche blues....Cobalt blue I've been looking at a couple 911 and a Cayman, one that is listed as Cobalt blue and much darker than the one pictured below,- one looks very light, this one looks more light . 911 is listed as lapis blue, the cayman as Cobalt, but they look the same - do they vary that much depending on lighting? Baltic Blue
OK, the car needs some work, but you get the idea. It is on the front burner now, getting a 3.0 mated to a 915 gearbox. Color looks good in spite of sitting in a warehouse for 20 years plus and there is precious little rust. |

If you're powered by Subaru, what about Subaru WRB (world rally blue)?

And the Winner is ...
Honda B97M found on 2000 and 2001 Honda and Accura. It's a pearl paint- voltage blue pearl. I know this is not what a purist would do, but my car is no longer stock, with a Subaru engine. I am amazed at how much the color changes with the lighting. That's one reason it is so hard to pick a color. The colors look different on the net depending on the lighting. The color chips in the books at the store are pretty close, but then you still need to spray them out to compare colors. We sprayed in one, two and three coats and then put the clear coat over that to really see the color differences. The bottom colors are candy versions that I will use on the rockers. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1301.photobucket.com-17072-1459118272.1.jpeg) Here's some of the photos. The car is only painted on the inside. Also, the clear coat is not on yet; the clear coat really makes the colors pop. Notice the two tones, front and side, casting the light differently. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1301.photobucket.com-17072-1459118273.2.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1301.photobucket.com-17072-1459118273.3.jpg) One more photo to show the difference in lighting and how much it changes to color. This photo does not really show the color very well. The previous photos, especially the first are the truest.
