Because people won't use titles that let you figure out if you want to follow the link without making the server send the page to everyone so they can read it to find out if it's even intersting to them ...

sorry - curmudgeon mode this morning.... after reading four posts in a row that gave me no clue what they were about until i got to the site and opened the page.

PLEASE PUT A MEANINGFUL TITLE ON YOUR POST!

thank you.

rant off.

You got that right. Just a LITTLE clue as to what the hell you're posting about would really help.

And while we're on the subject, "OT" means "Off Topic". And the topic here is 914s. If its not about a 914, it would be "OT".

Sorry for the bitch. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif)

NSFW - Not Safe For Work. Means it contains things that your boss would probably fire you for looking at on the company dime.

BTW.. We need a coffee drinking smiley.

The slowness that I notice seems to be related to the fact that when you want to go back to the main page after viewing a topic, it reloads the entire main page instead of just going back to where you were. This does mean that you get to see any new things added in the 30 seconds or so it takes to read a post, but I would trade that for the speed. I assume this also consumes bandwidth on the server (I am a dummy about computer stuff, so I could be wrong here).

I hate to chime in here like this, but are you guys on crack or what?

Subject titles seem just as good as they always have been - which is 80+% of the posts out there. That is pretty good. People do OT, careful at work and that. Matter of fact I have seen people do that significantly more than they have in the past. So I don't get the complaint, unless someone has got the cramps (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/spank.gif)

Move the magnets on the outside of your monitor, that ought to swirl the vortex just right and make everything all good.

Could be server problems, could be hmmm SPRINGTIME! Look at all the other porsche mailing lists, they die out to a post or two a day for the winter - come spring/summer hold on!

I think that is an Internet Exploder problem. I've swiched to Firefox (as everyone should) and it doesn't reload the page when you go back (or if it does it does it really fast.) Waaaaayyyy faster! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

I found when I minimize my porn sites to look at the 914Club, it will be very slow. But this my have to do with only typing with one hand. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif)
