Nobody wants a 76 anymore nor a salvage title.

Sure, stock cars with a healthy engine can pass no problem. Still, people shy away from having to deal with the smog check.

Please tell us all the tricks of the trade.

Sure, there are tricks on making the car pass but you can't install a 2270 with carbs and pass or do a six conversion unless it's from a later fuel injected car and is taken to the referee.

"Test Only" strikes fear into the hearts of those of us without such arcane knowledge.

Smog checks = ~50.00
Test Only Smog checks = ~90.00
Took my Miata to a test only station = 90.00 - 10.00 online rebate = 80.00

Every 2 years.

My 76 914 runs...rough (old gas?), but it runs. I've owned it ~3years, haven't smogged it yet. It's off the streets because I was waiting for it to roll past 76...thanks arnold.
