it would appear that with the new A3S05's coming out in a few days, that the A3S04's are beginning to be sold pretty cheap.
tire rack still has em (04's) at like $180 each, but i just bought some 205/50/15's for $110 each. cheaper than victoracers! http://www.rsracing.com/rscatalog/asppages...rt-discount.asp can't wait to kick some ass out there, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) n |

Maybe with a set of those and a good tail wind I could give you a run for your money. Popped a few more discs in my muffler over the weekend and the car feels even faster. But I'm sure my neighbors dont appreciate the noise. Thanks for the tire tip!

don't worry -- your 1.8 is still making more power than my 0.0! get that brake bias resolved and the tires a bit more scrubbed in, and you'll be a contender for sure.
you going to the redwood region events in april? |

I might. I have family in town this next weekend but the rest of April with the exception of the last week is free. So I'll miss the Sac region AX on the 2nd and WCC at The Streets. I'll have my brakes sorted out by next week. |

Has anyone run the A compound at open track or are they just too soft? I have used the R compound at track events - what are the pros/cons of using A instead. Thanks for the tip on prices. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

i would think they would be way too soft. maybe on a really cold day, in an 1800# car...
the A's aren't supposed to last terribly long at all. |

The wear isn't that bad on em....the As that is...as long as you watch the heat. I've gotten them greasy at a 2 driver AX in 85 deg heat. Get em' hot and they go "off" in a big way.
They are a real gud AX tire, but they like bout 2 deg negative camber and they're fat fuckers so fitment can be a problem.....the 205s like a 7 inch wheel better than a 6. |

Just ordered mine. Now I just need to 7" wheels. Why do I always create the need for spending more money on my car? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

Wouldn't count on it. These 205-50-15 are listed with a minimum rim width of 6.5" Might be OK on a 6" wheel, but probably not a 5.5" wheel Demick |

these would appear to be a "wide" 205.
people run all sorts of 205's on 4bolt fuchs, though. i've always been nervous about it, but never heard of a disaster. at the very least, your sidewalls would be very cupped, lessening sidwall rigidity and not putting as wide a footprint on the ground. |
