Just read a thread on the Pelican parts forum that Pelicans owner Wayne had his 914-6 stolen last night in Harbor City......close to LA. He hasn't posted a pic yet, if someone has one please post and be on the lookout.

Wow, that sucks!
I hope it's found soon and in one piece. I think it's his 74 six conversion, right? |

If you folks ever visit other sites, you will know that there's been a rash of 993's walking off. Some say, off to a container and off it goes overseas. Sad but true....signs of the times.

I pulled that pic from pelican's site, had Wayne's name next to it. Weird that the pic was never updated with the finished product. That video should help identify it as long as it's not already on a container heading across the sea. |

Happened this morning, 12AM or so - Harbor City. Last seen traveling north on Vermont after passing Lomita at about 95 mph according to the Police. At least the car got some exercise. Hopefully they just took it for a joyride and dropped it in a parking lot somewhere. I've been driving around all night looking for it. I've got the team assembling a search party of about 10 people with cars and maps and we will go hunting for it.
More details and pics to come when I wake up (been up all night). -Wayne |

Should be easy to spot the M471 fenders ware welded on with exposed welds and not surface finished last I saw it.
I haven't seen him drive it in a long time. I never thought the 914 would be worthy of getting stolen ! |

I have a bad feeling that parts from this car will end up on eBay. If he posts a serial number of his engine, I'll keep an eye out on the interwebs.

These incidents will also continue to occur, as long as you have folks who want your toys and don't want to work for it. We live in an " I'm entitled " society now.

I guess we do now need a kill switch and gps tracker since values are shooting up.
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Panel Billys post has a gps at $119 + service. Or, Get a $100 Iphone 4, wire the charger to the car, and toss it in the front trunk. Add it to your service for an extra $10 a month, and if the car goes missing, use Find My Phone service.....just a couple of things to look at. |

Wow, how you come to these conclusions is a wonder. It's not the first time a Porsche was stolen and shipped to a far off land. Didn't this start happening beck in the 70,s when many of us were kids? Or, is this the first time theft has occurred? |

I heard rumor of stagecoach and train robberies and horse thieves.
Harbor City is not the best part of LA. From what I recall Pelican is in a pretty nice industrial area. As times get tougher I recommend everyone be on guard. The gummint is cutting food stamps/ebt cards. IF you get hungry and there are no jobs, you steal or starve. |

Car thieves are not folks who are starving. They are organized criminals. Remember how they treated horse thieves in years past? Find the thief and a lamp post. |

That address is next door to Pelican parts. Did he leave it in the street there? That would be nuts !
Or is that address an extension of his shop where he stores cars? |
