Here's a couple of map packages i put together for two possible routes you can do on your way to Lancaster.
The Bouquet Canyon Route is easy, right off the freeway and only an extra 30-45 minutes driving, but an awesome road. There are two maps, one showing 2 mile sections the other 5 mile sections. You can review them and print the pages you would like to use, or print the whole booklet and have your navigator read out each turn! The Ojai/Gorman Route is a gruelling 151 miles of twisty mountain road. Not even sure if its open yet, but if you're a diehard this could be the way to go. I've mapped it and broken it up into 5 and 20 mile segmented versions. They are long, so again, review and just print the pages you think you might need. While many of the folks will just want to make the Freeway run, it would be nice to have an alternative. The Ojai/Lockwood Valley/Gorman trek (my favorite) is a bit much but Hughes Canyon Road is open (I think).
You map 'em and I'll post 'em! Would you be willing to lead the parade if I loan you my Shrek ears?? |

It was mentioned that there will be action at both track venues on Sunday. Will there be time for us to watch some of it?
Also, I hope someone will have some printed maps/directions for the trip to Lancaster available on Sunday. Thanks |

I'll be up for it if the car is!
I've never run Lake Hughes road out to Lancaster, but i'm very familiar with Bouquet Canyon and San Francisquito Cyn. Shouldn't be too tough... right? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) I've been busy but i'll look at the maps thing tonight and post the 3 routes. whats that number to check on road conditions, as to whether or not they are open? |

I'll also want to set up and get some action shots along the way. which would require a 15 minute head start at some point to set up. Will figure that out later i'm thinking, find a nice perch at a good corner. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

Why not keep it simple.....one freeway, get there quick route, and one scenic tour through the canyons? Hard copy directions and maps given out at Sunday morning meeting.

OK, It runs now, and pretty good too! Group: Members Posts: 1,445 Joined: 3-January 03 From: Santa Clarita, Ca Member No.: 85 Region Association: None |
Lake Hughes might be the only way to go for now, Bouquet was still closed as of week ago. I could run up there this weekend to see if it is open to Lake Elizabeth Rd. ...
You could always just do the 126 straight to the 5. cuts the twisties in half and a little less gruling... I'll check Bouquet and report back tomorrow... -Mike D. |

I love bouquet. And its not too much more than the freeway.
There's also a nice spot up near the lake that would make for good photos. I might be busier though, with other weekenders. |

Mike, Bouquet Cyn. is now OPEN. San Fancisquito Cyn. is still CLOSED. I drive by both of these on the way to the office, so the info is fresh as of this AM. Don't know about Lake Hughes Road or some of the others. How about Grimes Cyn from Moorpark to Filmore? Andy |
