Good thing Mark from 914 Rubber got time off to come! Rumor has it that he will be making available some of his new Rain Trays.

I also hear he is going to make a special deal for the incredible 914 Rubber Dash for all attendees! When I installed mine I was amazed at how it transformed the inside of the car.

This will be a great chance to give Mark feedback on products and show your support for a vendor that has always been there for the 914.

I don't think he will have to buy a beer the whole weekend! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Your registration is good, Mark. Bob was actually referring to a "real" Mike (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Registration for Okteenerfest 2016 is now officially closed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

We have a record-setting 109 registered attendees representing 70 914s. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
Of these 70 914s, 62 will be at the event with 54 being driven and 8 trailered, and 8 will be left at home on jack stands. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Does that include the one I am leaving at home n the lift?

Hmmm... maybe I should rephrase that to "at least 8 left home on jack stands".

"On jack Stands" encompassing all forms of 914 positions while not running.

Just sayin' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Well as the event gets closer it gets better!

Ron and Tucker from AASE are sending some real support! How about 2-$100 gift certificates, a 914/6 clutch and accelerator cable, and three sets of clutch and accelerator cables for the 914/4s. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Even if your cables are good, you want to have a spare set around. Right Bob?

I am also bring the <insert evil music here> THE CRIMSON SHAFT.

The Crimson Shaft is a 356 crankshaft painted bright red, in a nice wooden box.

Attached Image

It is the award of shame. An invention of Lawrence "Rusty" B. and given away since MUSR7 (I think).

It is given for the absolute stupidest thing done in or to a 914 at the event. Nominations are taken from the floor, and once everyone is done nominating, then a show of hands decides who gets it.

It can only be won 3 times by a single person, then they are forever prevented from winning it. The only person who ever reached that pinnacle was Charlie Davis. It has been as far west as San Fransisco, the year Dave Darling won it.

I am proposing that it become the 914World traveling trophy. The current "shafted" person has to go to another event in another location,or risk the shaft being given away at their event next year.

Because I am the current holder of "The Shaft", I get to decide the winner. And I can be bribed. ( I didn't win it. I ended up with it when the last winner sold his 914).

FYI... that sucker is HEAVY.. you don't want to get Shafted!

Exactly.

You can win the jackstand award through no fault of your own. Considering these cars are over 40, anyone can win it.

But the Shaft... well that is won by the individual. And it can be won by anyone, including wifes, sweethearts, significant others, anyone who is entered in the event. You can even gang up and give it to someone undeserving, just because you want to. You have heard of the "People's Choice" award, well this is the "People's Curse" award.

I can hear the evil thoughts churning in your brains from here.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/calvin.gif)

Bob,

I believe you are that "person"...you have far more experience being "shafted" than anyone else I know in recent past. Your own crank has been shafted too...many times over. But that's a tired, long story... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)
