Mine needs reclassified also, but it doesn't matter. It will be in the "jackstand" class. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif)

Problems at my resto shop will mean it isn't making the trip. Guess I will have to drive the 997.2 911 Carrera S at the back of the pack in shame.

that sucks...but I feel your pain. Last year even we didn't have our 914!! it happens...it actually sometimes amazes me how many of our cars DO make it!

you may have a hard time keeping up with the crowd in that luxury car though... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

I could deal with that pain!

I am waiting to see how my trip goes. It will either be there on my own or on a tow truck!

Meaning deal with the pain of driving a 911!

Still having overheating issues. Better but see huge spikes when on the highway.

And btw, I don't make the classifications myself. Steven and I go through every single car registered and "guess" at a class based on what each of you described when registering. Do we get it wrong? Yup, but honestly with all the other things we have to do to make this event happen, that's the least of my worries...

Where did you put Betty's car?

The only mods are a triple gauge in the dash, an aftermarket radio (that she doesn't know how to turn on), a power antenna, and low profile tires. Everything else is either stock or stock alike parts.

Yesterday, on her way home from work, she gets a flat on the brand new Bridgestone tires. So I drive out and replace it with the spare. Had it fixed today. Just a bad valve stem.

And this was the conversation a little while ago while she was waxing her car...

Betty "Did you check the lights?"
Me Everything but the brake lights. I need your help to do that."
Betty "Ok"

Me "Brakes are on"
Betty "No brake lights"
Me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif)

So I go dash diving.

Me "Are the lights on now?"
Betty "Yes but they are flickering"
Me "That's OK, I was jumping the brake light switch to check them"

So I pull the brake light switch, and my DVOM says it's fine. I clean the contacts, reinstall it, and LO AND BEHOLD, the brake lights now work.

I am going to worry about that damn brake switch the whole trip.

Hopefully all of the disasters happen now before we leave.

Ok. Now this is getting ridiculous.

Out cleaning up the car to leave tomorrow. My phone rings. It's Al Zim. He tells me that they had batch of bad valve stems, and he wants me to bring Betty's car to the shop to have them replaced. He doesn't want us stranded in BF Arkansas with a flat.

Let's hope that is the last thing to go wrong......

Take the car to their shop. They replace the valve stems. Now we are finishing up the cleaning and packing.

See y'all in a few days.

I'd take that trade on a drive 7 days a week...I just drove your same car on the track, in anger, at 10/10th's. That said...it was an awful pig on the track but would be an absolute delight in attending Okteenerfest! No shame...no back of the line. Safe travels.

I so much want to retire so I can attend every 914 event across the USA!

I would love to claim the "Iron Butt" award ... being from Seattle, WA I would have a good chance of winning!

Too bad we still have kids in school (college) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Pretty sure he will be flying this trip!
