Well got one SUV packed with Prizes! Had so much some has to spill over to the 914.

Did test run in 914 tonight things seem good. Everything seem to indicate that this will be a good weekend!

Looking forward to sharing all of this hard work with a bunch of great people.

Don't forget to thank Bob, Nadine, and Steve for all of their hard work putting this together.

See you tomorrow!

I have started a thread and put in a request. Gotta wait for an admin to work their magic.

Heading out of the Chicago area Wednesday afternoon and stopping in Lexington, KY for the night at La Quinta Lexington South Hamburg 859-543-1877 right off of 75. Meeting another 914er there and heading out to Banner Elk Thursday morning if anyone wants to ride in with us from Lexington, KY area PM me.

Dang Mike, if I'd known you were coming my way you could have bunked at my home in Georgetown. I'm heading out on Thursday morning but taking the scenic route down US 421 almost all the way to to Banner Elk.Should be a great drive if everything keeps hummin' along as planned! Should be some areas of KY I've never seen, and a few photo ops as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

I hope y'all have a fantastic weekend!

Put the engine in the car and come on... it's not that hard... I did it twice recently (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

I could be incorrect but I believe he is a the mercy of Raby doing the work...including installing the drivetrain for him.

Great trip, although one of those days was a bit rough, having reacted to what I believe was some bad bar-b-q. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) but I guess it was all worth it, as i
brought this awesome piece of equipment home- won the raffle for the gauge set from Tim, Can't wait so see how they look once installed!!
Many thanks also to Mark Whitesell, I also brought home a new rain tray!

So as those of you in attendance know, I lost my brakes and could not continue the Friday drive. Thanks to Clay and Rhyne and others (including and also a very big help Eric Shea - PMB performance via messenger for an hour) the brakes worked like a champ from our eventual fix and on through my drive home.

The car only had 24xx miles on it in the last year since the completion of the resto. This weekend I managed almost 900 miles for this trip alone!! The car got 32 miles to the gallon on a mix of 87 and 93 pump gas with dual 40 carbs and boogied down the highway at 80- 85 mph at 38-4k rpm without hesitation!! What amazing little cars they can be! And my back felt better getting out of it than when I long haul in my 2014 F-150!! Just wish the car had a pinch more leg room or a place to rest my right leg (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Great seeing everyone and meeting some new friends. Hope to do it again next year!

My wife and I wanted to say thanks for all the great memories this weekend. I can truly say that we didn't meet one person all weekend that wasn't friendly, informative and fun to be around.

I especially want to thank those of you that did all the grunt work organizing and volunteering. Your work paid off for the rest of us, but I hope you enjoyed it as well. Also, to everyone that took the time to flip through my binder and take a look at my project. Made me smile every time someone said they had never seen a car documented like mine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Makes bringing it back from the dead even more fun!!

Looking forward to actually being in a 914 next year and meeting back up with our new friends.
