My Getty decks arrived today and they're beautiful. I didn't take new pictures with them on the car because they look exactly the same as the others from the outside.

However, you'll have to take a deep breath before drilling into new CF for the pins:

And here's a project that took a day and a half. The idea is to have an aluminum rear panel which is not sealed to the car. If water gets in, it runs right out. The panels are covered in felt. The rest of the trunk will get covered tomorrow:

Joe,

Just went by Speed Merchant and they had pretty large diameter pins, some with keys. Can you shoot a close up of yours, maybe state the brand?

Keep up the good work! You are making great progress. I slacked off this weekend instead of installing the new carpet kit I just bought. Yes, they're from Patrick. They are way louder than stock. I have a couple of small scrapes on the bottom/rear of the cans from exiting the driveway, but nothing major.

Cool rear panel, you just rivit it on there? Mine has long been rusted, wonder if this would be an easy way to repair...then again, my car is a street car. I should probably just get a replacement panel.
Looks awesome on your car though, can't wait till it's done.
I'm sure you sat there for 10 min before drilling that hood eh?

Look Felix.

Above the headlights: remove the rubber bumpers and replace with 3/8" diameter aluminum deck pins. I made mine from rod stock, but they're available everywhere.

In the bottom corners: I used the same 3/8" pins installed in 1"x.125" flat stock, cut for the angle of the corner and attached to the seal channel with rivits from the bottom.

At the bottom, get the pin nuts as far into the corner as possible.

My wife came out into the garage for support. Deep breaths, deep breaths....

On the first set of decks, I waited weeks before I decided to drill the front for pins. On this set, they were here for less than an hour.

The rear panel is rivited in the places you can see and all along the back (vertical) where you can't see. It's not an easy way to do it. I could have welded in a replacement panel in a third the time.

The fabrication of the rear panel required making contruction-paper patterns (very time consuming if you want to be accurate), cutting out aluminum, bead rolling the aluminum for stiffness, welding mounting brackets to the panel (which requires aluminum welding skills and a TIG machine), covering the panels in felt, drilling over 60 carefully measured holes, leveling the panels to the car and installing all the rivits.
