got a new relay and looked at the Haynes manual and couldnt find where this thing goes....doesnt look like its shaped for the relay spots in the fuse box, plus those are for other things. also....i how do u get to the hazard light switch behind the pull knob. haynes says just to take it out, but it doest fit through the little hole. thanks!

Unscrew the knob, and it should come out the back. Cant help with the flasher relay. Did you unscrew the fuse block, there are a few relays on top of it..

Take the 2 screws out of the fuse panel, it drops down & the relay is above it. Mine is just laying up on top of the fuse panel.

It might be the square relay in this picture. The reason I'm not certain is that, on my car, there is a second larger "square" relay that is just sort of resting on the lower dash shelf. I think that the one hanging loose is for the wiper intervals.

There are two square relays. One is the high/low beam relay, the other is the flasher.
The hazard switch is removed in the same way as the other dash-mounted switches--unscrew the knob, then find a way to unscrew the round metal plate that acts as a nut to hold the switch to the dash face. I have been able to use a small flat-head screwdriver to push the "escutcheon" (as the manual calls it) to loosen it. When it's loose, you can use finger pressure to turn it. Unplug your battery (-) terminal first, though. The switch will fall down inside the dash and one of the "hot" wires might short out on something... --DD |
