I didn't see an oil tank listed. Did I miss it?

Condition of engine unknown... sounds like it's the 4 to 6 cylinder engine mount bar instead of the bulkhead mount. Carbs or CIS?

Don't know the condition of the muffler... used could mean fine or a rusty hunk of crap. Yes, you need the oil tank and lines or something to take their place.

At it's current price it is a good deal. More than $2K and it gets questionable unless you know more about the components... i.e., engine rebuild, etc.

Keep us posted.

regardless..its the 2.7..from what I have read from many sources, its a pile of crap, head studs pulling out and other nice things. They seem to start falling apart past 50-60 k. But if it runs ok...you will probably have fun..until it dies.

He,he....actually there is a lot of truth in what you say. 2.7s can be a stinker ....in stock form.
Like any other 9eleben motor, bring a wheel barrow full of money and they can be rebuilt to an acceptable level of longevity.

I bought this pile for 500 bucks (long block) and spent *some* money on it. It wurks.

2.7's can and do pull headstuds from time to time and the tensioners definitely need the Carrera update.
Cases can be cert'd. 2.7's with RS pistons, webers, S or E cams and headers are actually a nice motor.

Do you homework before you buy one, though, or buy it from YOUR mechanic with the understanding
that if not as represented he fixes at his own expense.
