Replacing the bushings on a side shift but I can't fit the Shift Lever into the Ball Cup Bushing (at the rear).
I've double checked to see if I bought the correct bushing and it appears that I have.
I've applied a fair amount of force and it doesn't seem close to snapping in.
A hard steel ball and a hard plastic cup with a smaller opening!!!
Not a lot of give.
Whats the trick?

TIA
Steve

Warm bushing in boiling water, put the bushing on the ball first. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

you can drill a very small hole in the back of the bushing to release the air pressure. lube it with grease. push it in or tap with rubber mallet.
