well here are 3 pics, i have a donor headlight switch and wires but every wire under the dash is diconnected, so it will take a while to hook it all back up

i think the head light switch shorted, and becuase there is not a fuse on the big wire from the battery it just comsumered everything esle near it

here is a pic of everywire under the dash

well 75 % of it is done, donor switch and wires, installed with solder, heat shrink and then taped. some other wires were burnt through too, so the bad sections were cut out and replaced with proper color coded wires. basicly whats left is to replace the melted ground wires, then hook up the gauges, head light switch and indicator lights.

i found a design flaw in the way the wires hook up... the third fuse from the right has a red wire attached to the unfused side of the fuse block. this wire goes to the head light switch, so if you have a short in the switch or what ever else it goes to, you will be doing the same thing i am. i plan on either putting it on a fuse or putting in an inline fuse

I have no patience....I am looking at Autometer and Summit catalogs for speedos, tachs and fuel gauges....gonna build a new dash and shit can the 50 year switches and buttons..... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sawzall-smiley.gif)
