Just in case you didnt know San Jose Grand Prix is happening July 29, 30, 31. This is a first for the Bay Area. Champ cars on a street circuit in downtown San Jose.

And wonder how Porsche Club missed out on the parade lap competition?

Bought my tickets a few weeks ago - definitely looking forward to seeing those Champ cars going down one of San Jose's main drags at 150mph! Note - last time I checked the Ticketmaster site for ticket purchases had the wrong track map on it; hopefully they've updated it by now.

Just checked. Ticketmaster still has the wrong track map on it; I talked to them and they ensured me that the the seating will be unchanged; i.e. if you bought a seat at the finish line, it will still be at the finish line with the new track layout.

I think the Golden Gate PCA really screwed the pooch by not getting involved in the parade lap competition; I wonder if anyone ever contacted them or if the PCA ever contacted the race organizers to see what opportunities were out there?
