It's a generic GMC wire loom. Some wires like AC, third brake light, dome light and such won't be used....this is just the intial layout. Once done and cut to length we will shrink wrap and further encase to protect the wiring.
I plan on also having the dash and gauges done by next week before WCC....prolly not have enuff time to finish but it will be close. Some of the stuff I am cutting out IS NASTY....surprised I haven't cooked off yet. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) |

My '92 Nissan pickup was totalled last month after a relatively minor electrical fire in the wiring loom where it exited the left front fender in the engine compartment. I smelled and then saw smoke, stopped the truck and put the fire out by smothering it with a towel, then soaking it with windshield washer fluid. Damage seemed minimal, but I knew it would be trouble. Dealer estimate for repair included a new harness, a couple of ignition compnents that got cooked, and many hours for installation, about $3,000! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) Blue book value, $2,500 to $3,500. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)
As with any older vehicle, you're screwed. The truck was actually in great shape. Body was straight, interior clean, engine used zero oil although it had 160,000 miles. I wanted to get another year or two out it. Take it down to zero book value. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) Frank looks like it's about 40+ years old. Out teeners are about 30. My truck was only 13. Kinda makes you wonder... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) Hey, Z. Whatever happened to the flame job? |
