Unfortunatly Im not gonna be able to fix my poor car, and it looks like it might be a while until I get another one due to the fact the I really need to find a new truck for work. So ive come to the point where I must decide what to do with my car, I can part it out, sell it as a whole, or maybe find something else to do with it. Anyways heres a pic of it. 73' with a 2.0 liter.

stick it in the corner for another day, or sell it to someone who will make it right again. Dont part it!

I agree I do have front Clip you can have for free just pick it up it's not pretty but there is no rust and you have the compete steering and such ( only thing missing is the winshield wiper motor and headlight motors) this car has been hit hard in the rear but the front is in great condition

I would hate to part the car out, but I need money for a truck. I have considered stashing it away for awhile or finding a way to fix her. Selling the car as a whole won't bring as much cash as parting it out, the only thing that feels right is to find a way to save it. maybe ill raffle it off, let the winner do whatever with it, leave the guilt of destroying/parting it out with them.

there was a guy in england who made an aluminum Abarth Carrera from a 914.
Rebodied it by hand. Very pretty.

Abarth Carreras are pretty things, but turing my 914 into one doesnt seem very reasonable. You happen to now pf any pics though?

Try to sell it first before you part it out. See what offers you get. Don't forget the time and effort required to part out a car, pack and ship the parts, and then dispose of what is left.

is it a '73 "with" a 2,0 or is it a '73 2,0 ?

'cause the '73 2,0 is the model "everybody" says they want, so even with the damage, that should be in your favor as a seller.

that damage doesn't look *too* bad, and there are some very talented and experienced 914 body guys over there on the Left coast. i wouldn't think it requires a clip...

MHO is that '73 2,0 parts are no more valuable than any other year's but the shell and the VIN have the cachét.

It's a 73' 2.0. Took me a while to find a good deal on one, did'nt take me to long to destroy it.

There was a guy at Summit Point a few years ago that had built a 904 using a 914, all steel and the only thing that gave it away was the door handle. He got REALLY pissed off when my boss said" Very nice job, you can hardly tell it's a 914." Boss was paying him a complement but he didn't get it. His wife actually came over and apologized to us for his reaction, she said his goal was to make it undetectible and it cheesed him that it was detected! It did look good (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
