I miss my friend Nord. He left us way too early. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) He introduced me to this amazing road and loved to drive it. So,. . .

I'm hosting a Nord memorial run up to Artist Point on Mt Baker on Saturday, August 13th. I know Nord's thing was to do a breakfast GTG and drive up in the morning, but traffic always is horrible on the mountain in the morning. So I'm purposing an evening run with a pre-run BBQ at my shop in Anacortes. So here's the plan. . .

4pm - Meet @ my shop which is about 10 miles west of I-5, exit 230 (12796 Quantum Lane #14, Anacortes, WA 98221) where I'll host a BBQ consisting of some sort of flesh, chips, sodas and such.

5:30 - We depart and cruise up Chuckanut drive and onto the Mt. Baker hwy for a mildly spirited drive up to Artist Point. By the time the road gets good, most folks on the mountain should be heading down for dinner in the opposite direction. By the time we get to the top, there should be minimal people up there and should have a clean run back down.

Folks from down south (Kevin) should miss all the traffic so you all are out of excuses!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It would be nice to have a rough idea of who plans on attending so I have enough food.

Yes! I have a new machine that levitates a 914. Lift off in puyallup and set down at deception pass state park in the cranberry lake parking lot. Bypassing the non-existent weekend traffic thru Seattle.

Nate; I've been thinking the same thing this week. time to plan a Nord run. I have talked with some people in the chuckanut club and they are interested in being there as well. (this was Nord's club). the 6/7th doesn't work for most people, nor does the 27/28. I think a skagit co meet up would work great. go up hwy9 to 542. bellingham people could meet up at deming. lets figure it out.

The event is planned for August 13th as that is the day my calendar allows. I'm open to routes to the getting to the Baker hwy and meeting up in Skagit. It was traditional to have as many folks as possible from CSSC join in the annual Nord runs and it's open to them as well. I had actually planned on contacting them too, so maybe you could handle that since you're a member?? (pretty please)

It would be awesome to have a whole bunch of cars turn out in Nord's honor and keep this fun annual run going. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

One of the biggest reasons why I chose to get another 914 was the frequent conversations I had with Nord.....he was my biggest influence on my purchase back into the 914 fold.
I'm in if I can get my nagging clutch issue resolved or I'll just drive my Volvo 240 wagon....but that wouldn't be much fun. Please don't laugh at me if I do Nord!

OK Nate; consider the CSSC notified. BBQ at 4. leave anacortes 5:30. I am thinking we might see 6-8 cars from this group. need to set up a meeting up on the mt baker hwy for bellingham people who don't want to drive to anacortes. I'm thinking the deming casino at 6:15? what say you?

Awesome! But the big question is will this machine be lifting a silver 914 located in a garage in puyallup that has been resting on jack stands for years to this event?

Super!! Thanks for doing that Randy. Yeah, 6:15 meet-up at the usual place CSSC would meet at for the Wednesday night runs would be great. Should be a good time!

When we made the Wednesday runs up the mountain we would meet at the Nooksack Casino. I'm assuming this is what is now referred to as the Deming Casino now.

I need to drop Julie off at the airport at 4:30 AM the next day. What time do you think we'd be done with the run?
