A few years ago I was custom machining the emblems like the ones pictured. Then one morning I woke up in the hospital to the news that my house had been cleaned out, my children kidnapped by their mother, and her house keys were on the table.
I took a much needed break from making emblems and I got my life back together. The divorce has been final for a year, I have a nice place to live with a 2 car garage to work put of, and the idea of getting back into making random parts has been on my mind quite a bit recently. All of the parts files that I created were saved, and more designs could easily be created. While making them before, I put in a lot of time and effort into developing my talents and fine tuning the process. It feels wrong to let the energy go to waste that I put into something that I enjoyed doing. I'd be sticking with the $10/digit pricing, and only taking a limited amount of requests at a time. Right now I'm just checking interest, while I am building a few more cnc machines. I have the router table and the small laser cutter, and have the controls for 3 more cnc setups. The biggest thing is that I have the question in my mind of "do I build a machine that is usable for small aluminum parts, and is the emblem adventure worth revisiting?" My vote is yes... question to the folks that have these mounted.... how do you attach them? Just use the 3M stuff for auto molding & emblems from the parts store?
