Well, I was almost ready to lower the car off jack stands and since I installed the axles I figured it was time to start the car just to make the wheels turn. With the motor off the gears all shift. I have spent a lot of time aligning shifter forks and getting the linkage right. But with the engine spinning I get a very disagreeable noise when I try to shift with the clutch pedal down.

It is a KEP 3.2 to 901 conversion in which I received a starter ring, pressure plate clutch disc and throwout bearing. I bought it used from someone on the board (cannot currently find who) so I really do not know what I have for certain. At install it all went together well, but the clutch disk, pressure plate and bearing all seemed to be stock-sourced parts.

Are there any tricks I should be thinking about. I would prefer to leave the tranny where I put it, but obviously that may not be possible. So even if it has to come off I am seeking advice. Also if anyone has info on what I should have in the package that could help. Not saying someone sent me the wrong thing: saying I can make a mess of a parts bin that I have.

helppp...
