All you'll have to do is write back and explain that you don't live in that county anymore. You'll get out of it.

If you DO have to go, just use a bunch or racial slurs, and you'll be out of there in no time. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Make a call and explain that you are looking forward to jury duty. Tell them that you've always wanted to have the power to fry someone in the electric chair.

Just walk in and sing a bar of Alices restaurant and walk out. They'll think your nuts and won't take you. If that don't work, tell them about all the stuff you wanna do to your 914. They'll think your nuts and won't take you.

Are you in school? They will let you out if you are in school because you never know if you will get on a jury that will take a while and it will interfere. I've gotten out of Jury Duty twice on the school gig. I actually even told the judge once that I would like to and she told me that since I was in school that it was NOT a good idea. So it works.

They'll usually give you a one time extension if you explain your situation. But then again, unless they sent the letter certified, how would they know you got it? you could be in California on vacation. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Tell them you cut up the special order pink car to fix your common red car. They'll realize your not too bright and send you packing.

My Dad had the best line I've heard. He just looked at the Judge & told him to bring that guilty son of a bi... in and let's get this over with. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) He was kicked loose every time.

Oh, yeah. I'm sure his being a Policeman had nothing to do with it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

You didnt get any notification. ...right? ...right? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) Thats the easiest way of all. Then they have to send a registered letter which they wont because they have a huge pool of people.

I always go, but my wife doesnt and uses this approach very successfully.

I have been selected once...

I told them I was a former Marine that didn't like many people and pretty much disliked the world.

They sent me home in less than 30 minutes.

I would just ask a bunch of questions about the death penalty. And be like "So, if he steals a car, we can't fry his ass?" or a "Can I watch him get fried" might work too? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Seriously though, you have school, I can't imagine them not letting you get out of it.

I was once seated on a jury panel but the judge wasn't too sure of my job classification (Parole Agent). We went to lunch and when we returned, the judge had done some research and he called me "a badge-wearing, gun-toting 'cop' "! And when I replied that sometimes I was...he threw me off the jury!

Grant is correct, do not do anything, you can say you never got it and didnt know. It has never been questioned. They dont send registered due to costs and they usually have a large pool to pick from.

Geez, it really that much to ask of someone to give a week of their lives to try to put guilty people behind bars? I mean I know our time is so fucking important, but stand up and do what needs to be done. I think a jury of our peers is a fair way to do a trial and if that means you have to be on call for a week or whatever, its worth it in my opinion. Okay, flame away.
