Hi all,
I'm going to be checking out a 914 that is in infinitely better shape than mine. The only issue is that it has a rusty suspension console. What kind of work are we talking about to replace one? I see that restoration-design has a replacement piece, but its the positioning that scares me. Three dimensional positioning of a suspension component has got me a bit worried, am I overreacting? Should I continue the hunt?

Thanks
-- Steve

Steve, I did this replacement last year. It's not that difficult, but you need to take your time and do it correctly. The alignment really is easy, it basically only fits one way. You'll need to measure from the center of the dimple on the firewall to the center of the ear hole, 545mm or 21 3/8". Here's a link to my personal website for further details.
