It definitely needs more HP to match the look of the car. But I'm going to finish this one, sell it, and then focus on my 71 with the Subaru drive train. So next owner of this car gets to decide what power plant they want.

Finished getting the tins on and mounted the carbs. Spark plug wires and coils hooked back up.

Next is air cleaners and replace the rocker assembly that I broke. Parts showed up last night. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

The new air cleaners that I received did not fit on the carbs. So I cleaned and painted the old housings. Will need to get new filter elements, but bolted back on.

Also finished rest of wiring. Just need to adjust valves before I put it back in the car.

Car is back together and on the road. Compared to my subaru powered 71 914, this 1.7L motor is a dog. Really needs more HP. I've got the car for sale so that I can focus on the 71, but if no one grabs it, I may sell the 71 instead and move forward with subaru coversion on this car. I've already got an engine and trans for it...

I've also started to do some of the detail work on this 72. I installed wiper blades, stereo, and now working on window seals. 914Rubber provided the product and Mikey has a good write up on how to do it. But what a PITA some of these pieces (like the triangle seals) are.

Driver side window seals replaced. Still need to do the passenger side as well as the seal at the base of the windshield in the car. Needs main targa seal as well.

Had the car polished and waxed today. Looks fantastic.
