Hello all,

Did 914's have factory installed sound pads (insulation) in the car's interior?

As mine (by. 1971) had already a carpet change, underneath there is just bare metal.

Which material could I use or parts to buy (autoatlanta, pelicanparts, ...)?

Does there already exist a thread on this matter?

Thx a lot

Yes they all had it ( a tar type coating in pieces on the floor...
Sixes also had it on the longitudinals as well. AA sells the kits or by the roll. It is no fun installing and many do not replace it as it has bad habit of trapping water underneath and creating rust. Of course you can make it not leak (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
Good luck...Use heat guy to contour when reapplying
I paint under with rust preventative ( not POR though) then apply then paint body color. Not exactly as factory did it but surely others will weigh in.....
Good luck
