I am trying to find the most trouble free ignition system for a DJet FI. I have a stock dizzy now and will replace that if need be.
I want to go breakerless, but hear so much sh!t about Pertronics. I was watching MM's Unilite adaptation, but when he took it out it scared me. Anybody use Dr. Jacobs or Crane and which model? All help is appreciated? Joe |

Havbe used the Crane/Allison XR 700 for years...no problems.
My '74 has a unit installed that is one of the original Allison units (real old) and functions perfectly. What more could you ask for about $130.00 (current price) |

Jacobs told me to go with a FF1000. They have the worst site and tech support. I wonder whats the difference.
I know Dr. Porsche and Dr. Jacobs would have got along. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/grouphug.gif) |

Hopefully after you put in any ignition system you won't need any tech support. I havent had to contact em for anything.. I even bought a refurb and it has performed for over 3 years now.

More expensive....... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) prolly has a few more features available, like rev limiter, etc.. you light the fire, it runs...but I suppose you can light the fire with a real expensive unit and believe that it makes more HP. |

D-jet FI. You have precisely two choices.
Stock distributor or close equivalent (e.g., VW 311, etc.). "Some other distributor" with Mueller's way of triggering the injectors. Sounds like you don't want to go Mueller's route, so you must use a stock distributor. Otherwise, no fuel. And what good is spark without fuel? (Sounds like a Zen koan! Dave I would do it Mullers way but of his last post if I remember. He is going back to a Bosch. There's the Mallory Vac Advance. But it dosent have the harness plug. Full circle (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)
