I think my engine lid may be warped.
I am working on fitting my fiberglass rear decklid to the car and wanted to align the decklid to the engine lid. The previous owner must have broken the engine lid brackets as the welds on them looked awful. I cut those out with the plan to purchase new brackets and weld them in properly. In doing so I began lining everything up and found the problem in the picture below. In the picture I am mocking up the fitment of the engine lid. Holding the engine lid so that the passenger side vent grill matches up perfectly I found that the drivers side is very low at the back side. So, obviously if you match up the driver side with the side vent grill, the passenger side is too high. I did remove the torsion bars on the engine lid so I could move the hinges more easily when the time comes to weld the bracket in. Has anyone else ever had this problem?
