I want to replace the carpets in my 1975 914 1.8L. I think grey would look great, though what I have now is a light tan color.
Where do you guys buy replacement carpets, and which product do you recommend? A few years ago I got off of ebay a complete set of replacements which are okay, but rather thin looking, nothing like the original. I am thinking of redoing them again, and I'd like to use a higher quality product, closer to original. (But this is for a driver quality car, so I am not going for the crazy expensive stuff.) Thanks, Andrei. |

I bought domestic carpet for my 914, in black. It looked great when I bought it....13 miles ago. Yes, 13 miles. I put this on a brand new build, a car with everything new and zero miles on the clock.
After these 13 hard torturous miles, the carpet has revealed itself to be thin, easily scuffed, and easily frayed. This shit is so thin it can't even maintain its basic shape. Bought from Sierra madre, I think from Autos international. And it's already being replaced. The domestic stuff is just SHIT |
