Ha! Not exactly. I have "recruited" another chap from slightly farther to the East of me - time will tell whether I have a caravan or solo effort.
The basis for the long haul is to make it a celebration/graduation trip for my son - father/son only. I intend to also take in a track day at Laguna or Sonoma either before or after WCR. If I can get that pulled together, maybe a few locals can join me - show me the lines. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Below is a pic of that "young puny kid" a few years ago in the WCR region! He's grown up since then... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) PS: I am taking him on THIS trip in lieu of OLOA in May - too many family conflicts and it still did not include my son. I feel this is the win/win choice in front of me. Looking forward to meeting some of you Western folks... Tony From Atlanta? Tony, are you really bringing your beast? That would win an award for sure. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) The puny kid a few years ago... The puny kid has grown up... |

Sounds great Tony!! Cant wait for the both of you to join us! Lots of father/sons get together for these sorts of events (Including my own father).
I will bring my(my dads) standalone wideband for those that need to make carb adjustments @ elevation. Make sure you bring leaner main jets if you have those, if not it might be a good idea to get some leaner main jets. http://www.356carburetorrescue.com/altitude.html |

Thank you Sir. Looking forward to the whole experience...well, not the utter ridiculous, absurd, asinine, and down right stupid sound requirements at Laguna. But that is another issue! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/new_shocked.gif)

Yea, the location of the race track is close to some richy rich land owners/ golf club resorts. You will love the track though.

Its a beautiful area and I know none of you will want to miss it! Right you are. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif) I will be there. I adore that drive home, dropping down into Death Valley. It is totally surrealistic. |

Seeing all the amazing pictures I'm really tempted to cross the Atlantic to take part in one of these events even if I'd be 914-less. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yes, please do come...that would be awesome! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
But you only get an award if you bring your 914! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) Seriously: It really is a beautiful place to take-in and is well worth the cost of an airline ticket and rental car! I hope you can make it... Tony Seeing all the amazing pictures I'm really tempted to cross the Atlantic to take part in one of these events even if I'd be 914-less. DO note it is a higher elevation. Carbs may have some issues. I had my Weber 44idf carbs at the Atomic Ramble. We drove up to the top of Sandia Peak, 10,600 ft. Even though it was jetted for sea level the car ran OK and I didn't have much trouble at all. I remember THOMAS yelling, "keep the revs up"! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
