Looking for a NICE engine to put in a '72 914.
The worn out 1.7 has been good to me, but its time for something fresher.
Want something that needs minimal prep work before installing into the car.
Ideally a 2.0 or larger, but may consider a VERY nice 1.7.

Build receipts would be nice, but a leakdown and/or compression test is a MUST.

Money is no object, unless its too much. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
But seriously, I am willing to pay a fair market value price for the right engine.

Induction is flexible.
Already have a set of EMPI 40s I could use, so dont need carbs.
May consider something with FI, but really dont want to mess with that anymore.
So a nice longblock ready to bolt to my tranny, install carbs, then go vroom vroom would be ideal.

Thanks!
BK

We have a 2056 short block sitting here waiting to be finished off. Probably want something a little larger than 40's for carbs though. We can build it out and send it up or, you can come visit! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I will have shortly, a 2.2L engine complete and running w/ EMPI 40's, with powdercoated tin, decent performance and ready to plug in. I am driving the 914 daily until i get my 3.0 6 built. Therefore the "shortly" may be as much as a month from now. It will be for sale cheap as it will be in the way of my conversion process. Keep me in mind if you are not in a great hurry. / And, at the right price-point, I will accelerate the removal of the engine from my ride and get to installing the motor mount and plumbing etc....

I have a 2.0 low mileage stock engine... 2500.00
can provide compression readings but I dont have a leak down tester.

Thanks Keith
