Dad got his car back, but on his first drive, the clutch went weird. Got progressively worse.
Yep Clutch tube pulled loose and was hiding in the tunnel, it was still attached partially at the two front mounts. Got everything back into position and migged it up. (Tell me again why the fuel line needed to be placed right there? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/welder.gif) ) Clutch works great now BUT: It pops out of forth on decel unless you hold slight pressure forward on the lever. Adjusted every which way on the linkage to no avail. Acts like internal transmission but it worked fine before? Any ideas? |

could the tube be off a little, pushing over just enough to keeping the car from going in to gear 100%? Just a thought, I've never had to deal with the center too much.

I am 99.999999% sure its back within an mm of where it started life.
There is no interference and the car actually shifts like a dream. Except fourth gear. The tube was hitting the shifter, because before we put it on the trailer, pushing the clutch made it impossible to shift, Dad did nurse it back to the house. |
