sort of... I brought a lambskin jacket that I probably don't want to wear in the rain. I'm leaving straight from work (in about 5 minutes). Maybe I'll stop by costco and pick up rain ponchos in bulk for everyone. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Don't worry about the jacket. I'm small, and would probably be swimming in your jacket anyway. I'll be fine. Thank you for offering though. I may even have another jacket in the car already.

I am still on the fence about if I am going or not. I would have to ride my motorcycle to Joe Sharps to pic up one of his cars, and then would not be able to drive it because it will be raining (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

Decisions, decisions.

You got to this before I did.

It was 80 degrees here yesterday, and today it is 20 degrees cooler, windy, and raining. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Seems like a conspiracy to me, but doesn't it seem that when an event is planned outside, the weather heads south?

Had to completely change out my luggage at the last minute because of the change in weather. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)
And you know how long it takes a lady to pack..... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

Well.....I worked on it Sun. Mon night my best friend's father lost his battle with his disease, Tues was spent hanging out with him, Wed I figured that there was no way to finish in time (and it was raining), Thursday I went into work early (at 6:30 am) and left at 12:30am this morning. Today, I am going to the memorial of my friends father at 2pm. No, far from done. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

I would like to hang out witht he folks at WCC, but making the ride in the rain to Huntington beach to pick up a car to drive to Camarillo, to drive in the rain, to spend money that I don't realy have, etc. Doesn't sound logical anymore.

Man, I am bummed.

Wish the WCC was in Seattle! It's clear blue skies... I just got some tan and worked up a sweat driving my 914 topless over an extended lunch break!
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Would still rather be at the WCC in the rain this weekend though. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Seems to me that the obvious reasons that is sucks to have rain include:

1) Can't drive as fast on the twisty tours
2) Most of our cars leak, and are prone to rusting
3) Pictures from the event won't be as nice
4) Driving with the top on!
5) Going to "Sunny Southern California" for a vacation and its raining!!

Socializing doesn't suffer nearly as much from rain. But then this isn't purely a 'get together and talk' event.

we hold these events for the people, not for the cars ...

if you feel like you can't drive your car with the top on, fine, there's always next years WCC ...

You're kidding (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) All this time I thought it was going to be cars sitting around in some post apocalyptic hotel parking lot where all the people have vanished.

Smartass comments aside, I understand that these events are for the people, but this isn't the Peopleclub.com board. We are here principally because of an interest/hobby/fascination in a particular car. Thus the event optimally ought to include the cars. I bet there would be a lot fewer people travelling from far away places if there were no track event, no driving event, no car show, and were simply here to meet in a single spot and just talk/socialize. It would be like going to an academic conference where no one brings research papers to present, rather just to talk about them.

I've got no problem driving with the roof on, but its nicer without it. And thats the point of complaining about the weather here. The event will happen and it will be a lot of fun, without a doubt. But typical Southern California weather would make it more enjoyable.

Well, krap. I planned on driving out with the top on anyhow (wind noise would make me deaf after so many hours) but not the rest of the weekend. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)
