I took this out myself and didn't pay much attention other than a glance over to get an idea of the rust extent.

This is the rustiest piece of the whole car excluding the rear trunk floor.

I just pulled the dash from the shed as it's my next piece to repair and refurb.

On the one corner underneath there is a dent of sorts. The other end is in straight shape and flows with it's surround. There is also no damage to the inner structure of the car in the mounting area.

On the the end with the dent there is a snapped mounting bolt in the rusty captive nut.

Is this dent, for whatever reason, part of it's true form or should it be as straight and true as the other end?
