Is it possible to remove the tunnel shift rod from an original 6 with the engine in the car ?
Converting to side shift.

Don't be afraid to destroy the front rod while removing because it is the same as the -4 so there are a bunch of them out there.

Good point Glenn.
But if that's necessary to remove it, it seems unlikely that the side shifter piece can just be slid in.
Is the cup on a early tunnel piece removable ? ....roll pin ?
