As you may recall, a while back i was waffling about whether ot not to soda blast, and whether or not to do a color change. I have now decided to soda blast and do a color change.. I was all set on the yellow until I got lost in a sea of yellow at the WCC... there are sooooooooo many yellow 914s.

So now I'm sort of drawn to Adriatic Blue.. It would be much less common, and stand out plenty.. but I'm worried it may end up looking too "cute".

So give me your thoughts, and of course pictures help. I'm open to other colors too, porsche or not.. the only requirements are not metallic and obnoxiously bright. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

I'd better reply to this before the shut up votes outnumber the rest (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Silver and delphi are metallic.. I'm going for solid colors.

I was noticing that nathan breitling's (sp?) 914 looked real nice, but aren't reds more expensive and more fade prone?

Does anyone have pics of an adriatic blue 914 with body color trim? Google image search didn't turn up much.

Alfa Romeo had a wild yellow in about 1970. It was a very bright yellow that had a little chromeate green to it. I know it sounds wierd but it was very retro-kool. It would look killer on a 914.

You know, really clean - white - 914's look fantastic. And there just aren't that many out there. Solid color, easy to clean and keep clean, fade resistant, etc... A nice bright white would really rock.

I saw a white 914 in San Diego 6 years or so ago. We drove along side by side (more or less) for a couple of miles. That's what got me looking at 914s and ultimately led me to purchase my first 914.

I've never been a fan of white cars in general, not sure why.

If yellow is faster, what is blue? Maybe blue stops faster? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Was this 914 (at the WCC) adriatic blue? Anyone have more pics of it?

I think this is adriatic
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-2-1114636960.jpg)

Also check McMark's 914 Colors page.

I've been thinking of going with Adriatic for quite a while now too and for the same reason (non-metallic = easier to repair if necessary). However, now with carbon fiber deck lids I'm thinking there will be a lot of black on the car. I have plenty to do before I have to decide on this.

Looks like Adriatic Blue is it! I think I'm going to go with the majority this time! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) And I'd have to shut up before painting my car yellow, and that just isn't going to happen (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
