This car is definitely re-earning its nickname: The Phoenix. Keep up the good work and enjoy it when its done.

I think of Rich's Creamsicle as the PNW Phoenix. But I remember the old name too. Just glad to see her getting some love again.

After applying the chip guard the satin black paint was shot on the roof.
I think the gloss is just about right. Don't you think? Proceeded to Satin Black paint the bumpers, grills etc. Attached image(s) |

I like the satin black. I've been using the VHT epoxy - chassis paint rattle cans in satin black. Used on bumpers, targa top, for sail panels, rockers, and front and rear lower valences, as well as the black chassis and suspension parts. It sprays really well when at normal room temperature. |

The original had scratches and chips and an uneven color so it had to be redone. Here is the procedure my buddy did: Sanded it smooth Applied sealer primer Applied chip guard Painted Satin Black Clear coated. Dave |

The weather in New Jersey has not be conducive to painting so, progress has been slow. We are expecting yet another Nor'easter with 6-12" of wet snow and high winds. What a way to usher in the first day of spring!
Tested paint on trunk lid. Sprayed 4 coats of single stage and it came out fine. When the weather breaks the car will be trailered to a body shop with state of the art spray booth. Then it's on to wet sanding. Love the color!! Can't wait to see the whole car painted. Dave |
