From my 82 SC I have a set of wheels and want to know if they would work on a teener with slightly flared rear fenders without using massive negative camber. The 914 is lowered and currently is on 15s, 6 and 7s.
Most importantly, what size tires? Would like to mount BFG Comp T/As Much grass |

Depends on a number of factors. "Slightly" flared can mean different things, and these cars are all slightly different.
I'll take a total SWAG and say sure, they'll fit. 205/60-15 all the way around should work fine. 215s stand a good chance as well. Maybe 225s on the rear if you're very lucky. --DD |

Think he is talking 16'' DD,I dropped all rear shims and running 16 x 7 all round, rear body pulled slightly with 205/55/16 tyres all good,my car is lowered but not too much.
Without pulling and rolling lots don't expect you could fit a larger tyre. |

I'm going to say yes and no, not necessarily!- the 16x7" fuchs rubbed on mine and caused blistering of the paint on the fender!! - depends on the car-
I have 205/55-16 on front and rear- now, the fronts are 6^ and rears are 7" - but for our cars the proper diameter for the speedo is 205/50-16 since you already have 7" on rear of car with your 15" rims your 16" may fit , even after having fenders massaged to get the 7" to fit, its so tight, before I fix and repaint I will be going back to 6" rims, with spacer, - you see the 7" rims come out a whole inch further, the back space is same as the 6's, - if they were lets say a half inch less on outside and half more in, they would be perfect. but that is not the backset for the early staggerd 911 fuchs wheels. - but like I said, it varies from car to car, so good luck!!! Anything can be made to fit but if you want a bolt on wheel, without hassles, stick to 6".

I'm curious if you tried fitment of your front 6" wheels with those tires in the back of your car? If so, did that fit in the back without rubbing? |

I'm running 16x7 23.3et all 4 corners w/ 205/45 Toyo R888R's. I grabbed the rear fenders by hand and brutely yet gently pulled them out a couple mm. Fits like a charm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I bought 205/50/16 Yokohama S-Drive tires yet to be mounted. I figure some rear fender mods will be needed. I also have both a full set of 6x15 and 7x15 Cookie Cutters. |

I am trying to get away from 15s to get away from the limited assortment of performance tires, especially S Drives. They grip well but but during hard cornering at speed, the sidewalls load up and when they release, they spring back like rubber bands totally unsettling the car. At 50+ going into a curve is a white knuckle experience. I love my Conti DWs on my 911 and abuse the hell out of them and they behave predictably. BFG Comp TAs also get extremely high marks. |
