I'm still confused. These wheels are an ET 23.3 offset. I was under the impression this was the same offset as all 7*16 Fuchs. I remember reading the 951 wheels had more room for bigger brakes. I have a set of 7 and 8 s 944 turbo with 951 numbers and I measured them and looked at them. They where the same as the 911 numbers in size and offset on the 7inch size. Plus both are 15 ¾ or so inside dimension. I have a set of 7 inch 911 numbers. They are not for sale. This was easy for me to do, as they are 20 ft. from my office with both sets have no tires on. My guess is the factory ordered wheels in sets so they would be matched. Bob I had always learned that all the 7x16 were the same, 8x16-951's are different offset and the 7x15R that is very special. Yes but the 7 x 16 that came on a 944 Turbo have a 951 number not a 911 number. Bob |

Porsche changed part numbers on identical parts to identify the use. Pretty common. |

A lot of mis-information continues to float around about the 7x16 Fuchs alloys, but I think it's reasonable to believe the input from guys who have actually used the wheels in question on the back of stock-fendered 914's: The 951 series (from the 944's) will fit (with maybe a bit of rolling the fender lip) but there's no way the 911 series 7x16 is going to fit without some really serious pulling of the fenders. Anyone with actual experience have a contradiction of this?
I have seen some wheel stat sheets where both are shown to have a 23.3 offset, and that's what is stamped on the back of these wheels, but I would wager that actual measurement of both the 944 and 911 wheels would refute those offset figures being the same. On these wheels I'm selling I did actual measurements (to the outter lip) with the width at 7.625", the back spacing at 4.75" and the front spacing at 2.875". I doubt that the 911 series 7x16 Fuchs will have the same numbers. |

I doubt that the 911 series 7x16 Fuchs will have the same numbers. So mathematically, your specs work out to a near perfect ET 23.3 at 4.75 backspacing (4.73 to be exact). I would be interested to see if a 911 wheel actually comes in at less backspacing. Not trying to take your thread off in another direction. I would just like to see proof of the difference. I'm wishful that you're right. May save me some money on flares in the future. |

here's a good site for fuchs info...
http://p101tv.com/fuchs_wheel_size_decoder.php The Germans call the amount of positive offset "ET" (Einpress Tiefe). also maybe this will help has the back space and off set...has the 951 8x16 wheel but not the 7x16 |

I want to point out that I took my 951 Part number 7 x 16 and measured them from the area where the disk seats in the inside of the wheel to the outside rim. I used a tape measure and a metal yardstick. (I was also surprised) and then measured my 911 number 7 x 16 and they where the very same. I did not try it on my 951 number 8s. By the way the 8s look the very same from the outside as the 7s.
I bought all of these wheels for my 914-8 Also the car pictured in my avatar is not pulled and had 7sx 16 911 numbers wheels on the back and just had small tires on it. Also guys want the 951 8s for 930 or turbo look fronts. I just sold a set of 8S to a guy for that. Yes Coloradocurt your wheels are primo. Good luck with the sale. Bob |

Happy you sold the super clean wheels!
Maybe this should have been in a forum but it was bugging me so I measured the wheels so you guys could see what the offset was just in case you where looking for 951 7s. Because you thought the offset was different in the 7” Trying to help out my 914 brothers. Bob |

This might help. I have that "Factory Wheel" spec sheet, and what brings into question its accuracy is that while both the 911 and 944 7x16 wheels are listed as having a 23.3 offset, the backspacing is listed as 112 for the 911 wheel but 138 for the 944 wheel. That can't be right! |
