I have my 912 fuel guage apart. I can't figure out how to get the needle off to remove the little level indicator thingy.

How do I remove this? Do I need to remove the needle to get the number plate off?

TIA

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) I was trying to slide the plate over the needle.

No brute force here. Even tho its a "tester" guage, I still want to do it correctly. Unless brute force is neccessary... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Brute force will prolly brake something. If the needle hub is not friction fit onto a post, and you cannot release it from the back side or the guts of the cluster, Im guessing it aint gunna come off.
