Looking for what everybody else seems to be looking for - a great 73-76 914 2.0. Am willing to pay up for quality - I understand that the low end of what I am looking for is $20k, and it goes up from there. Can be a restored car or nicely kept original. Original engine with fuel injection is a must. Very limited or no mods preferred. Prefer a silver car or one of the period bright colors - no color changes. Plaid fabric seats (if they came on the car originally) a huge plus. Full documentation, manuals, ownership history, COA also a huge plus.
Thanks. chipbell@verizon.net |

Just an idea...
Why pay the premium for a 2.0? If everyone else is looking for one, do what the herd isn't and find value somewhere else. Buy a really nice pre-'75 1.7 or 1.8. Take a portion of that premium you saved and build a 1911cc motor. Fit it with the FI or set it up with carbs. Do it right and you're looking at close to 100hp, maybe more. I built mine for around $1500 using a '70 1.7 engine and it's a whole new car. Faster than a stock 2.0, easy, and you have a new motor good for 1000's of miles. Then take the rest of that extra cash and do more up-fixin'. Just saying, but that's what I'd do. And it's what I did. But, if you're a collector, then nevermind. I get it. |
