Hey guys,
A buddy came by and saw our 914-6 build and we started talking 914's. He mentioned a crazy V8 Twin Turbo 1971 914 that he has had for a few years. He brought it by the shop here to do some work to it. I think some of you may be familiar with it...it is the same car seen on the cover of VW & Porsche in the December 1986 issue. Originally built by Jim Traverse. The engine is a 355 Small Block with a bunch of goodies and she has been heavily modified throughout. I expected to see more of the car cut out but the rear trunk is 100% intact. You can see the front has been cut to allow for cooling with the roll cage completely integrated. I know this isn't really a factory car but I thought you guys would enjoy seeing this! Here are some photos to start: Can't fit the spoiler in this photo... |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) As his engine is screwed now and it is out of the car, I think this could get one of the new fuel injection system that can be set to enrich under boost and you will get some very controlled Duel Turbo power. They look like a carburetor in the old school V8 with new school invention. When I had my turbo 914 2.0 in 79 the problem was always not correct enrichment under boost.
