I recently got a 1976 2.0 and noticed right away that the oil temp guage fogs up after a short drive time. It has been removed, glass.cleaned and reinstalled. There is no rust on it at the bottom as might be expected with repeated condensation.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Since you are already adept at taking it apart, put a desiccant from a pill bottle in it.

Had the same issue with a 911 gauge and it cleared it right up, but then I don't live in a particularly humid environment.

Put it in a bag with white rice. the rice will absorb the moisture.

Supposedly works with wet cell phones also.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
