The neck is 2 inches, but the barb is .100" bigger so a stiff hose will be damn near impossible to stretch over it. The neck fits into the hole in the tank so it is self supporting.
I'd try to get the silicone or at least a soft stretchy rubber. Same deal on the vent which is one inch. Attached image(s)
