Ok so I'm an idiot, I took a picture of my spare and found hub caps that fit it. Guess what! The wheels on my car are different, a friend says he thinks there is a bracket that goes in the wheel in the shape of a cross that will hold in the hub caps. Hoping he's right before I sell the ones I just got. Would appreciate any and all suggestions. THNAKS in advance!

I've never seen such a bracket. Those cross shaped wheels were standard on the later (1974 on?) 914s and didn't come with hubcaps. Those are for the earlier style wheels.

Check on the Samba, you might be able to find someone who might want the steel wheels you have and be able to dig up some of the older styled ones that would fit those hubcaps. I'm sure lots of folks have old 4 lug steel wheels around that might be wing to part with them.

I have a set of 4 in decent condition that I'd sell for $100 if you pick up. My shop is 5-10 minutes off exit 1 on 95 in Delaware. The tires are only good for use as rollers. Email me - mark@markepstein.net if you want them. No rush, they are sitting in the corner of my garage. I have hub caps for the wheels. Just have to find them.
