hi all
stock 73 2.0
looking to fix a no start after 2 years (sad) sitting for other stuff
going thru some fuel delivery checks
how does the air cleaner housing come off? looks like some rubber cone-shaped plugs hold it to a runner attached (somehow) to the grey intake tubes on driver side
it's tough to see in there/under there so I can't tell what needs what
i've tried search, haynes and clymers and dicking around with it on my own
what am i missing?
TIA

Look at the metal spring clips that hold the top part of the cleaner onto the bottom. There are two more of that type of clip in the middle (left-to-right) down near the bottom of the lower housing. Those two clips hold the bottom half of the housing onto the bracket on the driver's side runner pipes.

Reach down and you should be able to feel the forward one. The rear is more difficult as access is pretty tight between the housing and the rear of the engine bay, but if you work you can get your hand down there.
