Hello everyone. I'm looking for a header and muffler for a 912 TIV 2056 conversion. I've seen a few examples come up now and then. Home made? modified 914 header? I'm open to ideas. I have already checked out Tangerine Racing's website and A1 performance.
Thanks.

I think KaptKaos might still have an exhaust system that will work for your application - shoot him a PM

You're probably aware a bus exhaust from 1972 to ? will work plus some heat as well. I have a couple of '75-76 914 header pipes on Ebay that would make an easy start for a header system, not the most efficient though. Brad

Thanks guys.
Mark, I saw KaptKaos ad and shot him a PM. His headers look very similar to EMW's 72-78 bus heater box replacement pieces.

Jeff, the ones Brad posted (above) are the standard 75/76 914 head pipes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)

You can run them towards the rear of the car and adapt a muffler - I had a muffler shop weld up some extension pipes with all the mating flanges several years ago - reasonably priced.

Thanks Mark. I was thinking maybe something like this as well. The primary tube lengths look like they may be equal helping performance and bolt up to a Bursch or stock 2.0 muffler. This pick is from EMW.Attached Image

Yeah. Notice one of the head pipes is a bit longer than the other?

This is due to the staggered cylinder positions of the motor. When the longer pipe is attached to the forward bank, and the short one to the rear bank (both facing to the rear of the motor), the flanges match up.

contact jd74914. In February he listed a set of tangerine racing headings that had been prepped for this application. It might work for you.
