I'm getting ready to do some testing and fixing in the electrical side of the car. I used a Dremel tool with a scotch bright pad attachment. It made pretty short work of the job.

Use DeOxit on it to protect it from corrosion longer.

any suggestions for cleaning the contacts other than mechanical abrasion like the scotchbrite? something like acetic acid that cleans the contacts easily and quickly?

EDIT...nevermind, looks like that product also cleans the corrosion
