I'm having trouble getting my 1.8 to idle correctly and stop leaking oil. Does anyone have anyone in the St. Louis area they would recommend? Also I think the clutch could use some work.

thanks

Jeff

I have little faith in most garage mechanics doing work on our cars. If you have patience and a bit of mechanical ability, this is a great forum for information and guidance.

Not real close to St Louis, but you can't beat Brad Mayeur (914LTD) in East Peoria IL give him a call 309-694-1797. Maybe he can recommend someone near you.

Reid Vann in St. Louis used to play with 914s. It might be worthwhile to see if they're around still.

However, I'd concur that you would be well served to take it to Brad Mayeur in E. Peoria. There is probably even a bus route that could take you back after dropping your car off. I used Peoria Charter when I dropped my car off a couple of years ago, and it was easier than having a friend pick me up. However, I don't think they serve the St. Louis area, but Brad does offer trailered pick-ups if needed.
